Muyassir Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 23, 2026

This policy explains what information Muyassir collects, why it is used, when it is shared, and the choices available to people who use our iPhone, iPad, Android, and web services.

1. Information we collect

Account and identity information. We may collect your name, email address, username, profile details, role, language, and account status. Authentication may use email and password, Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, or Firebase Authentication. Muyassir's Laravel API stores the account record and links it to the verified Firebase identity needed for mobile synchronization. Google or Apple may provide an identifier, verified email, and limited profile information according to your choices with those providers.

Teacher, student, and academy information. We store roles and connections between students, teachers, academy managers, academy groups, and invitations or join codes. Academies may provide a name, logo or other image, and administrative information needed to organize their members.

Quran study data. We process reading position, memorization and revision progress, highlights, study notes, quiz and flashcard activity, mutashabihat comparison groups, challenge participation and results, and related synchronization status. Some study records may be stored locally on your device and synchronized when a connection is available.

Audio and images. If you choose to use audio features, we process voice notes shared in teacher/student study and temporary voice recordings used during challenges. We also process profile images and academy images that you choose to upload.

Device and communications information. We may collect device platform and app information, Firebase Cloud Messaging or web-push notification tokens, notification preferences, IP address, timestamps, request and error logs, and limited diagnostics needed to secure, operate, and improve the service. When you contact support, we receive your contact details and the content and attachments you send.

Feature usage information. We may record privacy-limited events such as opening the app or Mushaf, starting or completing a quiz or revision session, using Tafsir or mutashabihat features, or a teacher holding a lesson. These records may include the account ID, event name, time, platform, app version, safe numerical counts, and the connected student ID when a teacher is teaching. The analytics record does not copy Quran text, highlight text, private notes, messages, voice-note audio, quiz answers, or teacher feedback content.

2. How we use information

3. Teacher and student sharing

When a student connects to a teacher or academy, authorized teachers and academy staff may see information needed for teaching, including the student's identity, group membership, Quran progress, highlights, quiz or revision activity, and lesson information. Teachers may add highlights, notes, or voice notes that synchronize to the connected student. Students may see teaching material and feedback shared with them. We limit this access to the connected teaching relationship and academy role. Leaving a relationship stops future role-based access, but information already lawfully received or included in shared records may remain as required to operate the service.

4. Service providers and data transfers

Muyassir uses providers that process information on our behalf to deliver the service:

These providers receive only the information needed for their function and process it under their own terms and privacy commitments. Information may be processed in countries other than your own, where privacy laws may differ. We use reasonable contractual, organizational, and technical safeguards for such processing.

5. Other disclosures

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when you direct us to, to the connected teachers or academy participants described above, to service providers, to comply with a valid legal request, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of the service where appropriate protections continue to apply.

6. Retention

We keep account and study information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Retention periods depend on the type of record and why it is needed. Temporary challenge recordings are kept only as needed for the challenge and operational cleanup. Security, fraud-prevention, support, transaction, and legal records may be kept for a limited period after account closure. Backups may retain encrypted copies until they rotate out under the backup schedule.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including authenticated access, encrypted HTTPS connections, access controls, and revocable tokens. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device and credentials, and contact us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete personal information, or to withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. You can update certain profile and notification choices in the app. You can disconnect a teaching relationship through available account or academy controls. You may also contact us to make a privacy request. We may verify your identity before completing a request, and some rights may be limited where the law permits.

9. Permanent account deletion

You can request permanent deletion from the app's profile or account settings. Account access is revoked when the request is accepted, and the service schedules deletion of account-linked Laravel data, Firebase Authentication identity, Firestore data, tokens, uploaded profile and voice files, and personal study records. An academy manager must transfer or delete the academy first. Completed shared challenge history may be anonymized rather than removed where needed for the other participant's record. A limited non-identifying deletion receipt, legal records, and backups may remain for their applicable retention periods. See the account deletion instructions for details.

10. Children

Muyassir may be used in supervised Quran education. A parent, guardian, teacher, or academy should create or manage a young learner's use where required by local law. If you believe a child provided personal information without the permission required in their country, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised policy here with a new effective date and provide additional notice in the app when a material change requires it.
